Before moving to Wilmington, Nick was a team member at Archangel Coins in Las Vegas for many years. That is a high-volume market, and it is where the useful part of this trade gets learned: how to look at unfamiliar material carefully, and how to explain what you are looking at to somebody who has never thought about coins before.
Cindi and Nick are newer to Wilmington than they are to the trade. The shop is the two of them, which means the person who greets you is the person who values your material and the person who buys it.
Whether you are starting a collection, deep into one, or holding a box you did not ask for, you get the same counter and the same conversation.
Nobody hands you a coin collection at a good moment
It usually arrives with an estate, in a shoebox or a filing cabinet, alongside a lot of other things that need dealing with. You are not expected to know what any of it is, and you should not have to become an expert to avoid being taken advantage of.
Bring it in as it is. We will go through it in front of you and tell you what is there: what is collectible, what is bullion, what is ordinary pocket change, and what is worth keeping rather than selling.

As it is. Unsorted, uncleaned, still in the bag. Weekdays you can walk in; weekends call ahead and we will open for you.
We look at it together
On the counter, in front of you. Coins get looked at individually where that matters, and sorted into groups where it does not.
We explain what is there
What is collectible and why, what is valued as metal, and what is ordinary. Including the pieces worth keeping rather than selling.
You decide
Sell it, part of it, or none of it. Plenty of people leave with everything they came in with and a much better idea of what they own.

This is the thing customers ring about most, so here is exactly what to look for. The unit is inside the Market Street Executive Suites building, and the large sign out front belongs to a neighbor, not to us.
Brick building, blue-green roof, arched entrance
Coming along Market Street you will see the Window Ninjas sign on the brickwork long before you see anything of ours. That is the right building. Turn in there.
Park anywhere in the lot. Our entrance is the glass corner unit with 6317 on the window, to the left of the arch as you face the building.

Not during the week. The shop is open Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, and you are welcome to walk in. Saturdays and Sundays are by appointment, so call 910-520-4708 and we will arrange a time.
No, and it is most of what walks through the door. Bring it in as it is. You do not need to sort it, clean it or research it first.
Please do not. Cleaning a collectible coin almost always reduces what it is worth to a collector, and it cannot be undone. Bring it exactly as you found it.
Coins, paper currency, gold and silver in most forms, and mixed or inherited lots. If you are not sure whether something fits, call and describe it.
Talk to us about it. Whether a lot is better handled as a whole or piece by piece depends on what is actually in it, and that is a conversation to have once we have both seen it.
Not reliably. Condition drives a great deal of the value on collectible material and it has to be seen. A phone call is useful for working out whether it is worth a trip and how long to allow.
